There’s a lot we don’t yet understand. A lot we haven’t figured out. A lot we still need to discover.
We’re still discovering the Earth. We’re still discovering the universe. We’re still discovering ourselves.
We’ve only scratched the surface.
We’re nowhere near complete. Science is incomplete.
Yet, every day we find new ways to use science to improve our lives. We develop technology that makes our lives easier. We invent medicines that heal us.
We build machines that transform our work. We design cars that make driving safer. We build houses that protect us from the elements.
Every day, we push further down the road of discovery.
We’re going to solve some problems. We’re going to figure some things out. And we’re going to do it faster than anyone has before.
In the future, there will be even more discoveries. There will be even more breakthroughs.
We’ll unlock the secrets of the universe. We’ll invent new technologies. We’ll cure diseases.
We’ll explore space. We’ll colonize other planets. We’ll find new sources of clean water.
We’ll travel through time. We’ll go to the center of the earth. We’ll fly to the moon.
We’ll send robots to Mars. We’ll build cities on the ocean floor. We’ll reach the stars.
We’ll find cures for cancer. We’ll find answers to global warming.
We’ll figure out how to feed everyone. How to provide shelter for all. We’ll figure out how to fix the environment.
All this will happen. But none of it will happen without science.
Without science we’d still be living in caves. Without science we’d still be hunting with spears and clubs.
Without science we wouldn’t have electricity or computers. Without science we wouldn’t have the Internet.
Without science we couldn’t have airplanes or cars or telephones. Without science we would still be living in mud huts.
Without science we could not have made it past the Stone Age. Without science we could not have built skyscrapers.
Without science we would still be using fire instead of electricity. Without science we would have no way to power our homes.
Without science we might still be living in the jungle. Without science we would not know what was happening around us.
Without science we may never have invented television. Without science we wouldn’t have the internet.
Without science we probably wouldn’t have developed the atomic bomb. Without science we would probably still be living in caves, hunting with spears and clubs, and cooking over fires.
Without science we don’t know where we came from. Without science we don’t know who we really are.
Without science we can’t predict the weather. Without science we can’t tell if an earthquake will hit tomorrow.
Without science we cannot prevent disease. Without science we can’t create artificial hearts.
Without science we have no idea how long we’ll live. Without science we have no idea whether we’ll grow old.
Without science we are at the mercy of nature. Without science we are helpless against floods, earthquakes, tornadoes, hurricanes, droughts, tsunamis, volcanoes, and epidemics.
Without science we lack understanding. Without science we lack control. Without science we lack certainty.
Without science we live in fear. Without science we live in darkness. Without science we live without hope.
Without science we die.
Without science we’re just apes.
